Almost 50 young Pembrokeshire swimmers will be competing in this year's Welsh Summer Nationals.

Forty-eight swimmers form the county have qualified for the annual event at the national pool in Swansea.

The five-day British Gas Summer Nationals kicks-off tomorrow (Saturday, July 21).

As well as individual events, 12 relay teams will also be taking part and competing against the best young swimmers in Wales, England and Scotland.

Pembrokeshire County Council's swimming development coach Paul Dowey said the county team - the biggest ever - would be chasing last year's total of 28 medals.
