LADY CAPTAIN'S DAY

Wednesday, June 12, was Lady Captain's Day at South Pembrokeshire Golf Club - not the best day to play golf on the top of a hill, with a gusty sea breeze often dictating where the ball went, but all but a few stayed dry.

There was a good turnout considering the conditions, and the scores were better than could be expected.

The ladies returned in the evening where they shared a knife and fork buffet meal excellently prepared by the caterer, Janet Norrie, and thoroughly enjoyed by the full dining room.

Afterwards the prizes of luggage and handbags were presented to the winners of the stableford competition.

The worthy winner in category one was Carole Blackwell, with Jane Parsons close on her heels; the popular winner of the second division was Geraldine Alderman (a longstanding member of the club), with Sue Harris a close second.

The prize for the newer ladies went to Jayne Lewis.
