Lamphey have been riding high in division three this season yet they found their match in Tenby on Saturday as the existing cup champions beat them 6-1 in the senior cup.

Daniel Kitts scored the home team's solitary goal whereas Tenby's were shared around.

Sam Christopher finished the game with a brace as Jordan Richards, Daryl Mansbridge, Scott Ferney and Richard Perry nipped in for the visitors to complete and easy win.

Lawrenny were also in senior cup action yet they lost 2-0 at Goodwick United.

It's a virtual certainty that Hakin United will win the first division this season yet the race for second place is as wide open as it's ever been and St Clears are well versed to compete for it.

They won their fifth game of the season on Saturday to move into fourth place, equal on points with Merlins Bridge and just one point behind second placed Pennar Robins.

A lot can happen in the 17 games that are remaining yet if they continue to perform as they did over the weekend in beating Monkton Swifts 3-2, there is no reason why they couldn't finish as runner's up.

The Swifts are third from bottom in the current league standings but will always provide a stern test and Saturday was no exception as the home side were made to work hard for their victory with Aiden Rainbow and Daniel Ramsey with two, scoring the goals.

The Saints led 2-0 at the break with Ramsey netting the first via a header and Rainbow slamming one home from 20 yards for the second. Monkton responded with a penalty via Craig George before Ramsey's seconds gave the Saints a 3-1 lead.

Liam Butland then scored from 20 yards for Monkton to make for a frenetic finale.

"We should have killed the game off when we were 3-1 up", said Saints' manager Craig Weston. We missed three or four chances to put the game to bed and to be fair to Monkton they came at us hard all afternoon.

"It's nice to get the points but it wasn't one of our better performances this season. The boys are capable of a top six finish but we do need to get a little more streetwise to finish games off."

At West Dragons, Saundersfoot Sports went down to their seventh defeat of the season following a 2-0 loss.

Match of the day in division two was at Carew as they entertained Hundleton and it didn't disappoint.

The game finished 5-4 to the home side with Haydn Shapcott describing it as a 'game of two halves'.

The former Carew skipper was full of praise for his team and gave special mention to Lloyd Hughes after his brace helped the home side to victory but it wasn't easy as Hundelton shaded the first half.

"They dominated us in all honesty," said Shapcott. "They were playing towards the clubhouse which is the best way of playing at Carew and they stretched us out wide and we couldn't cope.

"We pulled it back in the second half and we started playing better football and Hughes proved to be a class act, he caused their defence no end of problems."

Hundleton led 2-0 at the break with Ben Parnell and Craig manning scoring before Carew pulled one back through James Hinchliffe.

A penalty by Hughes helped Carew draw level before an own goal made it 3-2 to the home side.

A goal by James Adie made it 4-2 to Carew before Jason Donohoe and Marc Edwards drew Hundleton level.

In a dramatic ending to the game, Carew were awarded a penalty with three minute to go and Hughes held his nerve to slot home the winner.

At Tenby, the Seasiders' seconds beat Goodwick United seconds 4-1 with goals from Robert Fairlie, Richard Tebbutt and a brace from Henry Lawrence.

Kilgetty went down to their sixth defeat of the season after losing 7-2 at Hakin United seconds. Jack Franklin and Ross Hurst scored the visitors' only goals in a disappointing day for them against the Vikings.

St Clears' seconds slipped two places in the league table after going down 5-0 at Manorbier United.

The Saints were second before the game but now sit in fourth after going down to their fifth defeat of the season after goals from Andrew Joseph and two apiece from James Williams and Jacob Webster.

Pendine were grateful to Ricky Hunt's score that gave them a share of the spoils at Monkton Swifts' seconds after Joseph Boswell scored for the home side while Pembroke Boro beat Milford Athletic 5-3 with Byron Woodward and Jason Beynon scoring two each and Luke Probert, one.

Meanwhile Pennar thirds lost 3-1 at St Ishmaels.

In division five, Angle seconds romped to visitor over Solva reserves following a 6-2 win. Jake Seaton scored once for the home side while Jason Evans found the net twice and Luke Wickland ended with three to his name in a comfortable win.

Pembroke Boro seconds won 4-1 at Camrose seconds. Paul Sharp scored twice for the visitors as Rhys Allison and Richard Evans also scored while Carew thirds lost 3-0 at Haverfordwest Cricket Club.

Finally, it was a day to forget for St Florence as they lost 6-2 at Letterston with the home team's goals being scored by Charlie Patching and Zac Thomas.
