High-flying St. Clears came back to earth with a bump on Saturday as they bombed out of the first round of the Pembrokeshire Senior Cup by virtue of penalties.

The Saints and penalties aren't the best of friends given they lost a cup final on them two seasons ago, yet their form this season should have suggested the game shouldn't have gone that far given they were playing Clarbeston Road, of the second division.

A brace of goals by Josh Jones and one by Sean Seymour-Davies allowed the visitors to tie 3-3 at the end of extra-time, but the home side prevailed by winning 3-2 after a series of kicks from the spot.

Fortunately for Narberth, they didn't have to endure such a travesty of justice as they sailed through with the biggest win of the day, be it cup or league.

They annihilated Llangwm 13-0 and Morgan Preece led the way.

He completed a fine hat-trick in the rout, while Tony Evans, Jordan Williams, Raff Barnett and Matthew Price all scored two apiece, before Richard Henton and Dorian Davies rounded it all off with one each.

Carew pushed recent West Wales champions Johnston hard, but the Tigers just edged them out after extra-time.

Haydn Shapcott believes he's getting an easy ride playing behind some talented youngsters and they helped him score the team's first in a 5-2 loss, with Lloyd Hughes nipping in for the other.

Monkton Swifts are out after going down to a 2-1 defeat at Haverfordwest Cricket Club. The Swifts failed to find the back of the net throughout the game as their only goal came courtesy of an own goal by the home side.

At Lamphey, the home team will be hoping Jansen Parsley sponsors a game for them again in the future as his generosity helped propel his team to an 8-2 win over his former club Hundleton.

Jason Donohoe and Dylan Davies both scored for the away team, but two goals by William Davis and a brace by Daniel Kitts followed by solitary strikes from Anthony Webb, Michael Davis, Connor Hay and Nico Morrison helped the hosts into the next round.

Saundersfoot Sports' season of woe continued after a 3-0 defeat away at Neyland, while Pennar Robins prevailed at home to West Dragons after they won 5-1.

Philip Thompson claimed the honours for the Robins after finding the back of the net four times as Sam Southcott struck just once.

A goal by Charles Patching wasn't enough to help St. Florence over the line at home to Fishguard Sports as they crashed out following a 4-1 defeat, but there was better news for Tenby as they put a string of indifferent performances behind them to record a resounding win over Herbrandston.

The current cup holders had few alarms during the all division one clash, with Jordan Richards and Scott Ferney running riot by scoring a hat-trick apiece.

Daryl Mansbridge and the in-form Joe Leahy nipped in for the others.

In league action, Pennar Robins' seconds went down 3-2 at home to Broad Haven, despite goals from Jamie Morgan and Gareth Stewart, while Manorbier United lost 3-1 against Pembrok Boro after a goal by James Byrne and a brace by Byron Woodward sealed the points for the visitors. For Manorbier, Joe McKeown provided the only bright spot of their afternoon.

A goal by Ricky Hunt allowed Pendine to tie 1-1 with Pennar Robins' thirds after Patrick McDonagh scored for them, although a point for the Gulls keeps them rooted in the bottom two, while Neil Thomson's goal couldn't prevent St. Clears' seconds from going down 2-1 at home against Prendergast Villa.

There was better news for Kilgetty seconds, however, as they picked up their first win of the season after beating Pembroke Boro reserves 2-1.

Mike Jolly, Jacob Layfield and Nicholas Jones all scored for Narberth thirds in their 3-0 win over Solva seconds, while Angle seconds won't forget the day in a hurry either after a 6-0 win away at Broad Haven seconds.

The only difficulty the visitors had all afternoon was deciding who was man-of-the-match after Jason Evans and Jake Seaton finished with three goals each.

Lawrenny seconds, meanwhile, went down 2-0 at home to Haverfordwest Cricket Club reserves.
