The New Year downpours savaged the league programme once again in Pembrokeshire as a host of matches fell foul to waterlogged pitches.

For the second week in succession, Narberth and Kilgetty firsts were left with a weekend away from football, while the same fate befell St Clears and Narberth thirds, not to mention Tenby.

Some matches went ahead, more so than last week, with Narberth seconds travelling to Clarbeston Road and winning 2-1, their seventh win of the season.

In a hard fought and attritional game, the Bluebirds came out on top thanks to goals from Dylan Davies and Callum O'Connell.

It must be frustrating for the Milford teams when they play Angle as they are just a stone's throw away from the pitch as the crows fly, given they lie on opposite sides of the water.

With no water taxis in operation, the only way to get there is by road, meaning the journey can be a long and tiresome one at times.

It must be doubly frustrating when you travel there only to leave having lost 3-1, a fate which befell Milford United as the home team's title challenge continued apace.

Another fine performance by the home side enabled Chris Richards, Lee Duigan and Gareth Fisher to score to help them secure their 12th win of the season.

Carew travelled to Letterston and secured a creditable draw against the combative side. The game finished at 2-2, with Rhys Winter and Neilson Cole grabbing the all-important goals for the visitors.

In 854, a Viking chief called Hubba landed with a further 20 odd ships where Milford is now and settled in a place inland where it was named after him. That place is now called Hubberston, although Manorbier wouldn't have been too interested in that fact when they were going down 4-3 against the home side.

Quite what Hubba would have thought of football is anyone's guess, although had he witnessed this match he would no doubt have been entertained, with both sides intent on playing attractive football.

In a typically up and down season for the visitors, they threatened and dominated at times, but despite goals from Andrew Joseph and Will Cowan, they couldn't push for their fourth win of the season and remain second from bottom in the division.

Pennar Robins' seconds, meanwhile, lost 4-0 at home to Goodwick United seconds.

A solitary strike by Dean Scourfield was enough for Lamphey to beat Camrose 1-0, while Pennar Robins' third team won by the same margin at home to Merlins Bridge seconds

Pendine were away at Carew seconds and would have had high hopes of gaining a result there, despite their opponents lying in second place in the league. However, they went down 2-1.

Craig Hurst scored the Gulls' only goal in a disappointing result for them, while Scott Cowper and Lloyd Hughes scored for the victors.

A magnificent brace by Geoff Marsh together with goals by Luke Brolan, Dan Storer and Sam Reeve was enough for Saundersfoot Seconds to beat Milford Athletic reserves 5-3, while St. Florence had a day to forget, losing 8-0 at Milford United's seconds

St. Clears' seconds drew 2-2 with Hundleton seconds, despite having home advantage and being six places above the visitors in the league.

Simon Bancroft netted the home team's first goal, before Steff Jenkins fired in the second, but the away team were able to hang on for a share of the points as Dylan Davies and Sean Newberry scored.

Meanwhile, in division five, Kilgetty seconds went down to their 13th defeat of the season as Llangwm won 4-0.
