Haverfordwest 6 pts
Tenby United 21
Andrew Price, GD Harries, FBM Holidays and Molson Coors sponsored Tenby United played a rearranged league fixture in Division Three West last week away at Haverfordwest.
Despite the half-time score being level at six points apiece after a tight first half, it was the Seasiders who were to run out comfortable winners in the end by 21 points to their hosts six.
Haverfordwest's two first half penatlies were rivalled with two well-struck efforts from Tenby outside-half Jonathan Rogers and, with it all to play for after the break, the visitors were able to call on recent form as inspiration and were determined to keep the pressure on Penclawdd at the top of the table.
The Seasiders were more than happy to return home to Tenby with four points in the bag after a much-improved Haverfordwest certainly made things difficult for them in the opening exchanges and kept challenging the United throughout.
The Tenby pack performed superbly and were able to provide the ball needed for the talented and impressive threequarters to run with.
Second-half points came through tries from powerful centre Toby Smith and Lloyd Thomas, along with one conversion and a dropped goal by Rogers to add to his first half tally of two penalty goals.
Tenby will hope to continue their recent run of form in which they've recorded no less than 24 tries from their last four games when they travel to Tycroes tomorrow (Saturday) to play what is tipped to be their hardest challenge to date and supporters are asked to go along to cheer the boys on at this very important time of the season.
The Seasiders' next home game will be on Saturday, March 29, when they welcome league leaders Penclawdd to Heywood Lane for what will be a huge and possible title-deciding game.
"It will be a very important day, not just for the players and the club, but for the whole town, as a win will be vital in the hunt for promotion and everyone is urged to make the effort to go and support the boys as they look to do the town proud," said first team manager, Peter James.
