Nineteen of the keenest and most competitive anglers in Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club fished a pegged match at Lydstep beach last Sunday, and when I received a text (I didn't fish) to confirm the minimum size of a Poor Cod (17.5cm, specimen needs to reach 200g) I was looking forward to receiving a match report showing a good variety of species.

Unfortunately, guess what, not a single in-size fish was brought to the scales and the Golden Peg prize fund has also rolled forward.

Forthcoming events include the following:

Saturday, March 9 - Annual Dinner and Presentation at Wiseman's Bridge 7.30 for 8 pm. £14.95 per head, please confirm booking and choice of courses to Tony Ormond on 07973 332215 as numbers are limited. If anyone has club trophies at home, please get them to Pete Strydom as soon as possible for engraving.

Sunday, March 10 - Ginst, sponsored by Waterwynch Retreat. Sign on at the car park by 1.45 pm latest, fishing 2.30 - 6 pm, with the weigh-in at the Chemist Inn, Saundersfoot, after the match. £100 first prize, £50 second.
