Darts
A higher level of skills was enjoyed by a good assembly of Friday nighters for last week's match. Our dart board has never received so many triple twenties as were delivered unerringly last week. Sadly not enough by us, but mainly by Cresselly CC players! We lost 2-9 against a more deserving team. However, there were redeeming features of brilliance from Wendy who won her singles match and Tim and Paul who took their doubles game with a brilliant two dart finish from Paul. Thanks to Tim for the excellent buffet, including some wonderful sandwiches - not just a dab hand at darts then?! Tonight (Friday), we should be at home against Tenby Rugby Club, but there is some doubt as to whether they are still participating in the league.
Six Nations Rugby
C'est manifique, enfin! Thank goodness the Welsh team returned to more normal service last Saturday with a good win over the French. There was widespread euphoria in the clubhouse this time - last week it was restricted to some Irish visitors who were over the moon and in our dejection over the result, the rest of us failed to suggest they should buy us all a drink. This week, we would have bought anyone a drink (always a good intention with hindsight!) We have a breather now until February 23 when we play Italy. KO at 2.30 pm with all the action on the big screen in the club, together with half-time refreshment and value drinks from the bar. Families and friends welcome.

Coppet Week
Last week's sailing programme 'aged' Coppet Week by 20 years by the mis-stroke of the keyboard! It is 40-years-old this year which is still a great achievement. Entries are now welcomed and all the paperwork is on the website.
Website Quiz
The commodore was hot on his hooter to win last week's question! Hopefully, this week's poser can be answered by all sailing members. If not, warm up the protests committee, check your boat insurance and get the maintenance kits out ready! To have a go, just use the quiz button on the club website.
Nautical Nip
Have you ever heard of a 'Gollywobbler?' This is a large sail hoisted between masts to increase speed... and is suggested as the derivation of 'having the collywobbles' in other words to being afraid...!
