Sam Joseph, of Swansea, took his fourth win of the 2014 Pembrokeshire Karting Championship at round five held at West Wales Karting, to become the champion for the third time.

This achievement makes Sam the most successful driver in the history of the series. Faced with strong competition at each event and dealing with the challenges presented by indoor and outdoor race tracks, Sam has proved himself to be a very quick and complete driver by capturing the title with one round to go.

Behind Sam, Lewis Thomas (Haverfordwest) was unable to repeat his previous victory at the indoor circuit by finishing second, closely followed by Carwyn Bowen (Efailwen) in third. Samuel Bassett (Haverfordwest) finished fourth.

Elsewhere, Richard Francis (Cross Hands) moved a step closer to retaining his Heavyweight title with several strong results in the heat stages and B final. Four drivers are still in contention to be Rookie of the Year whilst some incredibly quick lap times will be required at round six to claim the Fastest Lap Challenge trophy.

The final round of the year takes place at Carew Karting on October 11 and will be followed by the trophy presentation at the track. Anyone wishing to compete must let organisers know by registering through http://www.pembrokeshirekarting.co.uk">www.pembrokeshirekarting.co.uk
