South Pembs Sharks recently travelled to Llanelli to be part of the Scarlets female rugby hub’s celebration. A packed coach left Tenby at lunch-time, so that the girls were there in plenty of time to be part of the Barn activities.
The girls played games in the barn, joined in with many rugby related activities, and met some of the Scarlets players. In the Parc Y Scarlets stadium, they paraded around the pitch before the Scarlets v Connacht game began.
During the first half of the game they cheered on the Scarlets, who took the lead early on. It was great to see locals Ryan Conbeer, Samson Lee and Marc Jones playing for the Scarlets.
At half-time the U9s and U11s took to the pitch to play games of tag and touch, against other hubs. This was a fantastic experience for them, and despite the torrential rain, they came off smiling.
The U13s and U15s enjoyed being flag bearers for the second half run out.
The Scarlets finished off their game successfully, which the supporters were over the moon about.
This was a great community day out for all of the girls and families, with plenty of memories made.
