WITH the season on the horizon Pembroke RFC senior men’s squad begin pre-season training on Tuesday, 1 July, writes Darrell Willington.

The Youth start their pre-season training on Monday, 30 June at 7-8pm at the club (and will be training on Monday and Thursday nights throughout the season), whilst the Panthers women’s squad have a pre-season meeting at the club on Wednesday, 9 July and begin their training on Wednesday, 16 July.

Any new players wanting to join any of these sections of the club should come to the clubhouse in advance to get details from the various section coaches.

The Junior age groups will also be starting their pre-season activities in July and there will be the usual registration day for all age groups, which will be posted in the coming weeks (please look at the club website and or Facebook pages for further information).

The under 13s, after playing well at the regional finals in May, returned to action in the Milford Haven Solstice sevens competition recently, where they were delighted to win the Plate Final; the U14s also lost in the final of the main Cup competition, a great effort from all the lads

The club has also accepted the invite to stage the annual District Junior Finals Day, which will be held as usual on May Day weekend 2026.

Junior Registration-day for all age groups will be held at the club on Sunday, 17 August, starting at 10am.

The First XV have confirmed two pre-season friendlies, which are Pontardawe at home on Saturday, 9 August, KO 2.30pm, Narberth Athletic away in the Pembs KO Cup Rd 1 on Friday, 22 August, KO 7pm, and Tonyrefail home on Saturday,30 August, Ko 2.30pm.

Friday night social rugby starts in July at the club, U16s between 5.30-6.30pm then adults 6.30-7.30pm. The sessions are for people of all ages and abilities to come along and have fun and refreshments afterwards.

The very popular weekly coffee mornings continue on Thursdays between 10am and midday, everyone is welcome to come along.

The club’s directors and management committee were delighted to confirm that Woodenbale 2000 would be continuing their generous sponsorship of the club again next season and beyond.

The club is also very grateful for the continuing support of a large number of other sponsors, who are supporting the numerous squad kits and the ongoing development of the facilities; this season’s new First XV kit will be worn for the first time in the Pembs KO Cup match.
