The Panthers were away to Morriston in league action. The match was a really well contested affair, with the Panthers forging a lead after excellent work from both forwards and backs combining well. Morriston put up stern defence and scored a good try of their own.

Unfortunately, the game was brought to an early finish after a very serious injury to a home player; the referee decided to end the game and the result was awarded to the Panthers.

The Youth entertained a young Llangwm squad last Friday evening in front of a large crowd. The weather had rendered the pitch very soft and wet, but both teams served up a very entertaining game.

Pembroke’s older, more experienced squad dominated possession, with the forwards and backs combining very well to score eight unanswered tries; Bowyn Clark expertly converted seven of these from all sides and angles to give his side a 54-0 win, when the game was stopped (under WRU rules) after thirty minutes.

The Junior age groups were in action over the weekend, with mixed fortunes, but it was inspiring to see all age groups in action on a busy Sunday; well done to all of the players voted player of their matches.

The First XV was not in action last weekend and the match versus Cardigan has been rescheduled for March 24.

The First XV take on Llangwm at home this weekend, KO 2.30pm, in the first leg of the Palmer Cup, which has been played for, for many years in memory of Ray Palmer.

The match is being sponsored by the Pembroke Former Players, who will be sharing memories in their pre-match buffet.

The Panthers are due to be home against Tondu on Sunday KO 2.30pm. The Youth are home to Narberth this Saturday KO 2pm and they have drawn Bethesda (N Wales) at home in the WRU National Cup competition, which is due to be played on November 11, KO 5.30 pm, after the First XV home match that day.

The club is holding a children’s Halloween party on Sunday October 29, 5-7pm, wear your fancy dress. Ladies Committee Christmas Fayre will take place on Sunday November 19, from 11am to 5 pm, everyone is welcome to come along for some festive fare.

The first Winter Quiz will be on Friday, December 8 starting at 7.15 pm for teams of 4-6. The weekly Turkey Trots continue with tickets on sale in Pembroke pubs and the clubhouse.
