PEMBROKE Panthers ladies squad were due to play Tondu at home last Sunday afternoon, but Tondu were unable to field a squad.

Panthers offered to travel to Tondu to get the fixture played, as their eager squad were keen to complete their successful season on a high.

Tondu agreed to this request as they were able to field a team to the delight of the Panthers squad.

The whole match was played at a high tempo with the visitors dominating from the start at the set piece, which provided lots of possession for their backline that exploited openings efficiently to establish an early lead.

Panthers kept a stranglehold on their opponents and continued to build a solid lead in both halves, scoring some really well constructed tries involving forwards and backs combining well.

Panthers eventually ran out very worthy winners to complete a very successful season for the squad to the delight of their travelling support.

The U13 squad entertained Crymych on Sunday morning in a warm up match before appearing at the annual Junior County Finals day in their age group.

After a full blooded match they ran out very worthy winners by 52-24 to the delight of coaches and supporters.

At the weekend club member Chantelle Edwards, wife of ex player Matthew Edwards, took on the challenge of the London Marathon in a very personal quest to raise funds for the Nerve Tumours Charity; she completed her personal challenge in a great time and in doing so to date has raised nearly £8k on her online donation site.

Everyone at the club congratulates her on her momentous achievement.

With only an U7 festival on May 11 and a junior tour match at home the same day left to complete the season, the Directors of the club wish to say a very sincere well done to the Management Committee, all players, coaches, supporting volunteers, volunteers groups, sponsors and all supporters a huge thank you for their hard work, support, dedication and commitment during a long season.

Last Saturday a large party of ex players enjoyed a coach trip to watch the Scarlets beat Leinster.

Friday night activities will continue for people of all ages and abilities throughout the summer months, these are advertised at the clubhouse. The club dinner will take place on May 23, tickets are available at the bar.
