Pembroke RFC recently lost a true legend in ex-player Eddie Lewis.

Eddie was a well known, highly respected and revered rugby man, who played for the club into his forties and the County for many seasons.

He played with great distinction for the County and at one time took great pride playing alongside his brothers Ivor and Morgan in the same County side.

Excellent performances over a long period brought him to the attention of the WRU Junior Union selectors and in 1972 Eddie won a cap in a winning performance against Belgium.

Following the end of his playing days, Eddie supported the club in many ways and was a regular at home and away matches, where he loved a drink and opportunities to share time and banter with team mates and old adversaries alike.

The funeral is due to take place at Monkton Church on December 20 at 2 pm, followed by internment at Nash cemetery and a wake at the club.
