Saundersfoot Sports Club (sponsored by LG Leisure and Dave Wooles Decorating) played most to the Power Station Club from Pembroke on Monday evening and were 5-0 winners.

The first frame saw Steve Barlow Jnr. play Lee Goldsmith. Steve, who was making his debut for Saundersfoot, started very well, potting some excellent balls, coupled with controlled safety play. As the frame got to the colours, he was 10 points up and still playing well. However, Lee potted up to the pink, leaving a black ball game, which Steve took (good frame).

The second frame saw Glyn Davies play Mike John. Glyn was again not playing well, but persevered to eventually win on the pink.

The third frame saw Steve Cook play M. Rees. Steve was in superb form, potting well, including a 30-point break, as he went on to secure the frame comfortably.

The fourth frame saw Steve Barlow Snr. play Mark Stanley. Steve started well, but Mark responded with a 32-break, leaving the Saundersfoot man with a deficit of 18 to make up. He battled on well to reduce it and eventually it all came down to the black, which Steve took brilliantly to win the frame.

The final frame saw Darren Morgan play Paul White. Darren started well, opening up an early advantage of 18 points, but Paul was a solid player and soon came back to close the gap and take the lead himself in what was proving a closely fought frame. Coming to the colours, Paul was 10 points to the good, but Darren regained the initiative to lead by seven on the blue, which he took, and then slotted in the pink to seal victory.
