Division One

St Ishmaels sprang the surprise of the day with a six wickets win away to Carew who were dismissed for 146.

Skipper Robert Hicks led by example with 35 including three sixes and two fours, supported by opener Nick Scourfield with 28.

When the fourth Carew wicket fell with the total on 92, the hosts were in a comfortable position, but excellent bowling by Andrew Williams with 3-49 and left arm spinner Andrew Pawlett with 4-40 reduced Carew to 104-9.

However, the last pair Steffan Davies with 28no and Ceri Brace with 10 added 42 crucial runs for the last wicket.

Shrewd onlooker Ceri Davies thought that the last wicket stand could alter "The balance of psychological energy."

That theory is often proved to be valid when the bowling team go into the tea interval with heads down.

If that was true, the Tish batsmen had other ideas as they scored 147-4 in reply as Peter Bradshaw with 57no, including seven fours and Karl Rhead with 60 with three sixes and seven fours added 89 for the second wicket.

Steffan Davies took 2-32 for Carew.

Other fixtures went Carew's way so they remain top of that table. The match between Saundersfoot and Haverfordwest was a victim of the weather and Neyland lost by four wickets away to Llangwm, after the visitors had scored 171-7.

Henry Durrant scored 39no, Patrick Bellerby 34 and Gregg Miller 21.

Andrew Harries, Chris Inward and Darren Brick each took two wickets for Llangwm, who recovered from 92-5 to reach a winning total of 175-6.

Richard Brock scored 59no, Steve Mills 39 and Alastair Platten 26.

Cresselly remain bottom of the table despite winning by 56 runs away to Whitland, who were dismissed for 166 chasing a Cresselly total of 222-6.

Opening batsman Andrew Harris scored 86 of the Cresselly runs with 10 fours and one six, supported by Phil Williams with 23 and Simon Cole with 36.

The total was given a late boost by Ryan Lewis who scored 43 including four sixes and one four.

Jonathan Thomas and Iestyn Scourfield each took two wickets for Whitland who were dismissed in the last over of the match.

Whitland skipper Matthew Davies scored 36 with six fours, backed up by David Lee with 26 and David Dunfee with 23.

Lyn Richards took 5-54 for the visitors, supported by Stefan Jenkins with 3-31.

Although Kyle Quartermaine scored 42 no other batsman reached 20 so Narberth were bowled out for 119 away to Lawrenny, as Steve Lewis took 3-23 and Simon Cole 3-30.

In a low scoring match, a second wicket partnership of 44 for Lawrenny between Simon Cole with 35 including six fours and James Buckle with 16 played a key part in the Lawrenny victory and Andrew Cole scored 23.

16 runs were needed to win from the last two overs. Hugh Griffiths hit a six off the last ball of the 44th over and the match winning six with one ball of the match remaining.

Spinner Matthew Johns took 3-21 for the visitors amd Ben Hughes 3-39.

Division Two

Pembroke moved up to second place in the table with an exciting two wickets win at home to Burton, who were held to 130-8, as both Neville Davies and Richard Jones scored 30.

Jonathan Rogers took 5-36 for the hosts who reached 131-8 in reply, with Phil Hay scoring 45no and Rob Weston scored 40.

Tim Haggar took 3-38 for Burton.

Whitland Seconds slipped down the table after crashing to a 92 runs defeat away to Johnston who scored 138-6.

Chris Fitzpatrick scored 44, whilst John Summons, Nick Davies and Chris Walters each scored 19.

Carl Smith and Steffan James each took two wickets for the visitors who were bundled out for 46 in reply.

Gary James took 3-11 and there were two wickets each at little cost for Richard James, Nathan James and Paul Hood.

Cresselly Seconds had the better of the local derby at home to Carew, who were held to 88-9 in reply to a Cresselly total of 126 all out.

Julian Arthur and Nick Davies both scored 28 for the hosts, supporter by Iwan Izzard with 21.

For the visitors, James Hinchcliffe took 3-28, Luke Hicks 3-39 and Rob Scourfield 3-31.

The match had been reduced to 32 overs per side and although James Hinchcliffe scored 32, the visitors were unable to snatch a win as Iwan Izzard followed up his batting with 5-20 and there were two wickets each for Bobby Webb and Matthew Lewis.

Division Three

Leaders Lamphey lost by 21 runs away to Pembroke Dock who had scored 159 before being dismissed. Opener Jake Davies scored 66, with two sixes and nine fours, supported by Nick Daley with 22 in an opening stand of 94 for the Dock, but the introduction of spin twins Andrew Skeels and Hywel Gibbs into the attack, resulted in the run rate slowing down as wickets fell at regular intervals, as Skeels finished with 5-22.

In reply, opening batsman Gianluca Trimarco scored 32 with five fours and one six and Johnny Hyde had an attacking innings of 32, but the visitors struggled to keep wickets intact even though they were up with the run rate and were dismissed for 138. Jake Davies took 3-36, with Nick Daley, Glyn Griffiths and Steve Alford each collecting a brace of wickets as well.

The matches between Narberth Seconds at home to Johnston Seconds and Havefordwest Thirds at home to Crymych were abandoned and Llechryd failed to take a team to Stackpole who have moved into second place in the table after the award of 30 points.

Division Four

It is tight at the top of Division Four with at least five teams in the race for promotion.

Camrose and Spittal remain top with a commanding 138 runs win away to Hundleton, after reaching a total of 201 all out.

Martyn Tweedie was the hero for the visitors with a fine innings of 109, backed up by Marc Jones with 27.

For Hundleton, Daniel McNiffe took 4-21 and Riaan Strydom 3-36.

Hundleton were bundled out for 63 as Paul Tough took 3-10 and Philip Rees 3-16.

After a number of blank Saturdays, St Clears were glad to get a game, although the Saints travelled to Hook with only 10 players, five of whom were under 14.

In a match reduced to 34 overs per side, the visitors were bowled out for 105 with Nathan Evans scoring 53 including six fours and a six and Martin Thomas 24. Alan Millichip took 5-11 for the hosts.

In reply, Hook Seconds were dismissed for 92 as teenager John Jones took 4-15 in an excellent spell, with James Ingleton and Nathan Evans each picking up two wickets in support.

David Petrie with 27 and Chris Holder with 24 offered the most resistance.

Saundersfoot Seconds kept in touch with the leaders after dominating a drawn match away to Carew Thirds, who scored 98-9 in response to a Saundersfoot total of 216-4.

Richard Cope scored 68 with six fours and two sixes and Geoff Marsh 63 with six sixes and two fours.

The pair received support from Simon Stanford with 27 and Chris Hawkes with 26.

Excellent bowling by David Parcell with 4-12 kept the Carew run scoring in check, although Chris Cole scored 34 and Jeremy Griffiths 21.

Cresselly Thirds scored 156-8 away to Burton Seconds as Alex Bayley scored 72 with fours sixes and five fours and Steve Wilkins 23.

Mark Hicks and Gavin Campbell each picked up two wickets for the Burton team who reached 140-8 in reply as Ben Huxley scored 52 and James Scale 24.

Philip James took 4-16 for the visitors.

In a match reduced to 38 overs per team, Kilgetty scored 141 all out away to Llanrhian Seconds. Opener Peter Hall scored 24, Jake Marsh 39 with eight fours and 14 year old Curtis Marsh 21.

Llanrhian Seconds could only each 121-8 in reply, despite the efforts of Paul Casson with 29 and Rob Jenkins with 20.

Peter Hall took 3-13 and Curtis Marsh 3-44.

Division Five

In a low scoring match, Pembroke Seconds lost by 14 runs away to Camrose and Spittal Seconds, who were dismissed for 73.

David Crane top scored for the hosts with 23 as David Jones took 5-9 and Luke Harries 3-13 for the visitors.

Although all-rounder Nigel Phillips scored 22, Pembroke Seconds were dismissed for 59 as Brian Hawkins took 3-4 and Gelly James 3-14.

Division Six

Only one game was played in Division Six where Lamphey Seconds were bowled out for 64 in reply to a total of 76 all out, posted by the visitors Stackpole Seconds.

Lewys Gibby scored 40 and Richard Simon 21 of the runs for the visitors who were bowled out following good spells of 4-20 by Maldwyn Llewellyn and 4-25 by Shaun Donohoe.

Scott Brunton had a defiant innings of 24 for the hosts as Marcus Aidie took 3-20 for the visitors.
