Carew increased their lead at the top of Division One with a winning draw over second placed Neyland.

In a low scoring game, the home side will be ruing the fact they couldn't dismiss the visitor's tail end as they hung on against this season's pace setters.

Set 142 to win, Neyland stumbled to 113-9 as Tom Davies continued his good form with the ball by taking 4-35, while Tim Hicks took 3-12 to complete an excellent all-round game as earlier he contributed 29 in Carew's total of 141-8. Star of the show was Nick Scourfield however as he carried his bat for an impressive 73 not out.

Early leaders Saundersfoot entertained Narberth and suffered a devastating loss as they went down by 126 runs.

Batting first, the visitors racked up 210-8 as Wayne Howells struck 47, Richie Adams 40 and Mike Scale 52 in an impressive, but not insurmountable total on such a small pitch.

Tom Richards took 3-60 for the home team against his former club, while Nicky Cope took 4-52.

Any thoughts of overhauling the score were quashed as soon as Ben Hughes began to steam in as the opening bowler took 6-38, while Ian Hughes took 2-9. The only resistance offered by the home team came from Richards who struck 30 and Dai Davies (21) in a total of 84 all out.

Lawrenny secured the most dramatic result of the day as they won off the last ball of the match to condemn Cresselly to yet another defeat that keeps them rooted to the foot of the table.

Needing six to win off the final over, Ian Jenkins blazed his team to glory amid scenes of rapture from the home contingent and despair from the visiting team.

The away side could only post a score of 137-8 in their allotted overs, the only batsmen to get to grips with Rob Williams and Steve Lewis who took three wickets apiece were Phillip Williams and Julian Arthur who scored 38 and 37 respectively. In reply, Lawrenny crept to the required target as Brad Jenkins scored 27, Rob Williams 25 and James Buckle 30 as Lyn Richards took 3-30 and Sam Harts 2-35.

Notable performance of the week belonged to David Dunfee of Whitland. The talented young all-rounder took 9-17 away at Llangwm as he tore through the home team's batting line up with aplomb.

Bowling with the speed of a hurricane and the destructive force to match, the home team had no answer to his class, the only respite coming during the eye of the storm when Dunfee was forced to end his spell after seven overs but by then he had already taken five wickets. On his return to the fold, he raced in to take a hat-trick and condemned Llangwm to a meagre total of 107 all out. Mark Lee was the man to spoil the chance of taking all ten as he had a man trapped lbw.

Chasing the total proved to be no problem for the visitors as Owain Evans struck an assured 37, Matthew Davies a quick 25 and Jonathan Thomas 22.

In Division Two, Whitland Seconds won at home to Burton as they dismissed the visitors for 89 as Steffan James took 4-19. He was ably supported by Paul Webb (3-10) and Carl Smith who took 3-28. James and Webb proved to be equally as effective with the bat as they scored 29 and 21 not out respectively to secure 28 points for the Borderers.

It was a case of brother-in-law's in arms at Johnston as Brian Hall and Adam Chandler both hit centuries against the home side to enable Carew seconds to rack up 218-1.

Hall, playing only his second game of the season hit 105 not out, while Chandler, playing his first and his first since returning to the club, struck an unbeaten 111.

Johnston could only muster 104-7 in reply against the accurate bowling of Stephen Davies who took 4-41, while Ceri Brace and rob Scourfield took one wicket apiece.

Cresselly Seconds had the worse of a drawn match against Hook. Batting first, the visitors scored 152-9 as Matthew Lewis took 4-48 and Bobby Webb 2-33 yet in reply, the home team could only reach 83-9 as Harry and Steve Thomas scored 19 and 17.

Crymych slipped off the top of Division Three following their heavy defeat at Stackpole with the mountain men (there were only eight of them) getting bowled out for 42. Josh Davies made no mistake in helping the home team chase down the runs as he blasted a quick fire 31 not out.

Lamphey go top after their fourth win on the trot following a 70 run victory over Johnston seconds. The Stags batted first scoring 135 all out as Steve Vale hit 48, Hywel Gibbs 23 and Dean Lawrence 19.

Johnston found the going tough against the accurate opening attack of Vale and Grant Cole who conceded 12 runs from the first ten overs. Andrew Skeels and Gibbs benefited most from the miserly openers as they took seven wickets between them with Skeels ending up with 4-14 and Gibbs 3-17 as Johnston were skittled out for 65.

Narberth Seconds had a losing draw at home to Llangwm seconds who batted first and scored 135-6. Terry Davies took 2-28 for the home team and Andrew Williams 2-21.

In reply, Mike Williams blasted a quick 30 and Ceri Davies 20 not out but they could only reach 1113-9 at the close.

Pembroke Dock meanwhile were heavily beaten at home against Llechryd who passed the home team's total of 70 for the loss of two wickets.

Lewis Hicks and Joe Kidney were in the runs for Carew 3rds against Kilgetty scoring 84 and 89 respectively in a total of 238-3. Only Tom Murphy (2-54) had any joy against the pair who feasted on the visitors' bowling.

Former Carew legend Peter Hall settled down to enjoy himself as he struck an unbeaten 84 in reply being joined at the end by Liam Cullen who scored 22 not out.

Cresselly Thirds enjoyed an exciting win at home to Saundersfoot Seconds who were bundled out for 58 in reply to the home team's 78 all out. In a day for bowlers, Huw Evans scored 36 for Cresselly and James Oakley 23 as Steve Cole took 4-11.

Grant Hardy was the only Saundersfoot player to enjoy himself with the bat scoring 14 as George Wilkins took 5-19 and Steve Davies 4-17.

St. Clears went above Burton seconds to go top of the table after getting the better of a drawn game against them.

Batting first, the Saints marched to 194-6 as Andrew Thomas score 55, Chris Rodenhurst 54 not out and Andrew Edwards 41.

Burton finished on 158-6 as M. Thomas took 2-25 and Nicky Evans 2-38.

Lawrenny seconds opened up a 21 points gap at the top of Division Three after annihilating second places Camrose by 137 runs. Despite playing away from home, Lawrenny reached 180-8 as John Beff scored 87 and Steve Cole 30.

Ben Cole then proved to be too pacy for the home side as he steamed in to take 5-7 alongside John Fuller who took 3-11 and Steve Campbell 2-11 as the home side were shot out for 43.

Ashley Smith was in the runs for St. Florence as they beat Neyland seconds by seven wickets. The home side set a total of 140-7 in the first innings, but the visiting batsmen had no worries in passing the total as Ashley Smith scored 53, James Ruff 32 not out and Mike May 21.

In Division Six, Crymych seconds fared little better than their firsts as they were bundled out for 40 at home to Stackpole who posted an epic 197-7, while Whitland thirds scored 207-8 against Burton thirds who were bowled out for 138 given them a win by 69 runs.
