Dinghy Racing - Five boats sailed in last week's evening race, with a moderate breeze from the SE.
Robin Wood showed the way sailing his International Canoe; followed in 2nd by Jon Nuttall in Phantom 1451; 3rd, Jaime Bohata and Tim Griffiths in Osprey 1334; 4th, Peter Rainbault in a Laser ILCA7 ; and 5th, John McKellar and Julian Cumpsty in Osprey 1330.
On Saturday, the morning, thick fog eventually gave way to light airs and sunshine.
Two races were set under way by Richard Johns and Alistair Knibb, with Carpé Dieme, Osprey 1365, sailed by Dave Griffiths and Maurice Clark winning both races on corrected time.
Second in each case was Steve Leach in Contender 646, and Third place was awarded to Richard and Alistair, Osprey Lady in Red, for stepping in to fulfil the Race Officer and Safety Duties.
Jaime Bohata took advantage of the calm conditions to train his junior crews, and the flotilla was completed by John McKellar and Robin Wood.
Clubhouse - The Commodore’s Quiz was a fun evening with Terry Evans posing lots of Brain Teasers. Try this one for yourselves: A bottle and cork cost 46p, the bottle was 30p more than the cork. How much was the cork? Terry’s quizzes will continue on the last Saturday of each month throughout the summer until further notice.
