The ‘Dragons All-Stars’ – the rugby union side’s successful mixed ability team were delighted to welcome team sponsors - Ty Francis MBE, Dominic Barrett and Marc Walby, to their recent European fixture with ASM Clermont Auvergne, and onto the pitch to launch the partnership and present the team with their ‘New York Welsh’ branded kit.

The Dragons All-Stars sponsorship is part of a global initiative co-founded by former Tenby Greenhill School pupil Ty Francis MBE, and US Business Advocate for Wales, and Aled Miles, a Los Angeles based Tech Executive and former CEO of Telesign.

The platform, ‘SponsorOurClub.org’ connects Welsh expats and philanthropically-minded individuals with Welsh youth sports teams in need of financial support.

The program will initially focus on girls football and rugby teams accredited by FAW and WRU, and mixed ability teams across Wales.

It will attract a broad range of individuals from across the world to support these local Welsh sports teams.

The All-Stars sponsorship is a result of the collaboration between Ty Francis MBE, New York finance executive Marc Walby and retired Cardiff lawyer, Dominic Barrett, who also originates from Pembrokeshire.

SponsorOurClub.org has secured funding of the South Pembs Sharks (U13 and U11) Girls Rugby Teams, and Kilgetty (U16 and U14) Girls Football Teams by connecting them to New York Welsh who provided the donation. The website launches later this year.

“New York Welsh wanted to be a catalyst to demonstrate that anyone in the world could make a positive local impact on these mixed ability teams and bring a global perspective on a regional inclusive program.” said Ty Francis.

‘New York Welsh’ is an organisation co-founded by Francis and Walby.

It is now New York’s largest and most active social and business network, aimed at supporting the Welsh diaspora in New York City.
