Narberth finally got back onto the rugby pitch after more than a month's enforced rest and hit the ground running against their local rivals.
It was a great start from the kick-off as they staged phase after phase, featuring piercing runs from Archie Milne and Dafydd Gibby, before Jack Fussell poached the touchdown.
They then sat tight and weathered the backlash. Talfan Jenkins was a key man in protecting that all-important possession and there was equal commitment from Griff Evans, Rhys Kemble, Ifan Rees and the ever-effective Leon Whalley.
Lewis Hough made the break which brought try number two in the corner and Whitland heads went down when all the hard work of a period of sustained pressure was undone by a 70-metre breakaway try by Evans. Harri Harries converted.
The scoreline might have suggested a rout, but Narberth had to dig in for long periods as the home side pressed hard.
Evans went close again, before Jordan James scampered in from a ruck on the Whitland tryline.
Moments later, Kemble broke through a disorganised Whitland defence on halfway to score under the posts and Harries converted.
Again the young Otters showed their character in a difficult period when decisions went against them and Rees answered in the most effective way possible with a great break and another try under the posts.
It turned out to be his lucky day when a clever kick from Harries found the wide open spaces behind the Whitland defence and the bounce fell into the centre's hands. Harries completed the scoring with his conversion.
