FINALS NIGHT

(sponsored by Haverfordwest Coins)

Last Thursday saw the last of the finals take place at Narberth RFC.

Up first saw the singles between Mark Davies (SSSC) and Hefin Thomas (Whitland Sports), which turned out to be a one-sided affair as Hefin took control from the start, winning the match by four frames to nil in record time of around 25 minutes. A disappointed Mark will admit he couldn't get into the game, however, reaching the final is still a good landmark to get to. It was both players first major final which is surprising as Hefin has been an experienced player for a few years, but was delighted to win.

The team knockout saw holders, the Dingle, take on the Alpha A and there could have been an upset on the cards as the Alpha went into a 3-1 lead, however, the Dingle hit back taking the last two singles followed by the first two doubles to make the comeback complete with a 5-3 win.

COUNTY POOL

The South Pembrokeshire county side (represented by Narberth league players) have had a mixed start to the 2012 season in West Division Two, picking up results of a win over Port Talbot by 20-16, defeats by Poolworld of Neath by 22-14 and Bridgend by 20-16. However, last Sunday, a local derby at home to Carmarthen B saw them rattle in a fine 26-10 to push them up the league. Well done to the following who all recorded four out four, Tom James, Will Vallance and Mark Davies. Also thanks to Sylvia and the RAOB for the excellent food.

And a mention for Sea-Jay Disco who sponsored £50 towards the last away trip.

Next match sees them have a tough encounter at Swansea who are currently top of the league.
