SAUNDERSFOOT’S Sam Coleman helped Team Brady extend its remarkable run of consistency in the UIM E1 World Championship with another podium finish in Monaco, a result that moved the reigning champions to the top of the standings.

Racing in challenging conditions on the waters of Monte Carlo, Coleman and team-mate Emma Kimiläinen combined speed, composure and consistency to secure second place overall and open up a nine-point advantage at the head of the championship table.

Friday’s qualifying session saw Team Brady secure fourth place, putting them in a strong position heading into race day. With valuable championship points on offer, the team entered Saturday determined to turn promising pace into another major result.

The weekend started positively as Kimiläinen finished fourth in her group race before Coleman produced a superb performance to win his heat and send Team Brady directly through to the finals.

Kimiläinen then delivered a measured and assured drive in Final 1, crossing the line in second place and earning the team a start from lane two for the decisive Final 2.

With the overall result hanging in the balance, Coleman took the wheel for the final showdown and produced another impressive display to secure second place overall, ensuring Team Brady left Monaco with a valuable haul of championship points.

The result maintained the team's perfect podium record this season and strengthened their bid for a third consecutive world title.

Coleman said: “It feels great to be back on the podium here in Monaco and to be at the top of the championship standings.

“To come away with another top-three finish means we've now been on the podium at every race this season.

“We didn't have the easiest start to the weekend, but the team worked incredibly hard to unlock the pace and we kept improving with every session.

“It's a great result, but there's still a long way to go. We'll keep pushing, keep learning and keep working hard behind the scenes to make sure we remain in the title fight.”

Kimiläinen added: “I’m very happy to come away with another podium here in Monaco.

“We started off quite slowly, but we progressed every time we went out on the water.

“That’s one of this team’s biggest strengths. We learn quickly, adapt to the conditions and work well together.”

Attention now turns to Luanda, Angola, where the fifth round of the championship will take place on September 12 and 13.

The UIM E1 World Championship is the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing series, sanctioned by the Union Internationale Motonautique, the international governing body for powerboating. Launched to showcase advances in electric marine technology while promoting cleaner waterways and sustainable mobility, the championship began in 2024 and features mixed-gender driver pairings who alternate driving duties throughout race weekends.

Team Brady has been the benchmark since the series began, winning the inaugural world championship in 2024 before successfully defending its crown in 2025 to become the first back-to-back champions in E1 history.

This season the team has maintained its impressive form, finishing second in Jeddah, third in Lake Como, second in Dubrovnik and second again in Monaco. Their latest podium places them in a commanding position as they chase a historic third consecutive UIM E1 World Championship title.
