Bonymaen 9 pts. Whitland 6
Whitland travelled to Bonymaen in the Swalec Championship on Saturday and battled hard, but only came away with a losing bonus point, going down by nine points to six in a very tight match.
The first half ended all-square at three points each, with outside-halves Richard Cunniffe for the home side and Whitland's Nico Setaro trading penalties and both missing two chances each.
In the second half, Cunniffee was again on target, kicking a further two penalties to give the home side a lead of six points, but when Whitland centre Lee Glanville intercepted deep in his own half, the visiting supporters thought he would get the first try of the match, but he was brought down just short of the line.
Setaro cut the lead to three with his second penalty and Whitland put Bonymaen under a lot of pressure in the last five mintues, but the home side's defence held strong and won by nine points to six.
Team fielded: Carwyn Jones, Fraser Watson, Alex Pickersgill, Lee Glanville, Tomi Jones, Nico Setaro (Jonathan Thomas), Andrew Jenkins, capt., Rhodri West, Marc Jones (Tomos Wilson), Nathan Price, Llewellyn Jones (Dai Ebsworth), Kieran White, Dylan Richards, Like Owen, Callum Tree.
