When Marion Clarke was appointed Tenby Golf Club Ladies Captain earlier this year she chose to make the Pembrokeshire branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust her charity of the year - the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Trust.

During the course of a very successful year, the ladies raised £1,090 which was presented last month to CF funraising manager Carolyn Holt.

Carolyn took the opportunity to speak of the wonderful contribution the people of Pembrokeshire had made   to the work of the CF Trust since the Pembrokeshire  branch was set up 36 years ago.

"The past 50 years," she said, have been years which have seen great improvements in quality of life and  the rise in life expectancy  from infancy to approaching 40. There is still much to be done. There is still no cure, but we have much to celebrate. The work goes on.

"Our families are enormously grateful for your support."
