Local man Jason Cole became the Pembrokeshire Karting champion for the second time at the final round of the championship on October 5. It has been an intense season, with no driver being able to build up a clear advantage.

Kieran Davies (Ammanford) dominated the final event by winning all of his races, allowing him to clinch second place in the overall standings. Defending champion, Sam Joseph (Swansea), remained a strong contender throughout the season, but ultimately finished third. However, he did succeed in winning the fastest lap challenge, setting a track record of 22.731 seconds around Carew Karting's 500m track.

Richard Francis (Swansea) prevailed as the champion of the heavyweight division, and set the fastest lap for the category, with a time of 23.121 seconds. Liam Hunter (Pembroke) came second, with Michael Davies (Carmarthen) third.

The Rookie of the Year title was awarded to Steven Roderick (Swansea). Round three winner, Dan Thomas (Templeton), finished second. Despite leading the rookie standings all year, Brian Newton finished third.

Royston Badham, championship co-ordinator, enthused: "It has been a really strong season, with a high standard of racing. I would like to express my deepest thanks to everyone who has participated in this year's championship. I would also like to thank our partners; Smith & Jones Electrical, Business Finance Wales, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and Carew Karting for their continued support."

The 2014 season will see West Wales Karting in Haverfordwest joining the series for an extended calendar.
