A unique community fundraising event will be taking place in Manorbier next month - which will feature an afternoon and evening of inspirational talks, wellness activities, live music, food and a charity auction to raise funds for Tenby's self-funded World Champion triathlete, Stephanie Waring.
‘Achieved It Their Way’ will take place in the Pembrokeshire seaside village on Saturday, August 16.
Stephanie became the 2025 Age Group Sprint Triathlon World Champion, representing Great Britain on the international stage. However, unlike many elite athletes, she receives no major sponsorship and funds her own training, travel, accommodation, race entries and equipment.
Every pound raised from this event will go directly towards helping her defend her World Championship title and compete in the Olympic Distance World Championships in Spain.
The event isn't just about Stephanie, it celebrates ordinary people achieving extraordinary things.
Speakers at the event include:
- Stephanie Waring – World Champion triathlete and local fitness instructor.
- Tom Luddington – Elite freediver, ranked third all-time in the UK, and Coastguard volunteer.
- Merched y Môr – The first all-Wales crew of four Pembrokeshire women to row the Atlantic Ocean.
- Harry Cromwell – Welsh National Surfing Champion, former Olympic hopeful and full-time fisherman.
- Toby – A local plumber who, after just seven months of climbing, completed a demanding 20-pitch route on Mount Kenya.
The day also includes free Keep Fit and Yoga sessions, food, drinks, live music and a charity auction, making it a community celebration as well as a fundraiser.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
3 to 5 pm: Free Keep Fit and Yoga Sessions – at The Reading Rooms, Manorbier.
5 to 7 pm: Food, drinks, live music and a charity auction – at Manorbier House.
From 6.30 pm onwards: Inspirational Talks – at The Reading Rooms.
