Tenby United put up a brave battle against Division Three West leaders Amman United on Saturday, before eventually succumbing to defeat.

In fact, the determined United, looking to complete the double over the section pace-setters, started the better and actually held a 10-5 advantage at the interval.

However, their cause was not helped when Nicky Guymer was red-carded and stand-in skipper Gareth Edwards soon followed him to the sidelies with a suspected dislocated knee.

The losses up front proved the turning point and Amman took full advantage of the situation to take control of the game as they racked up 28 points without reply in the second half.

Earlier, the United's first half points had come from a try by Pat Roberts, which was converted by Tom Lewis, who also banged over a penalty.
