Waunarlwydd 35 pts. Whitland 23
Having won their previous two games, Whitland couldn't make it three in a row on Saturday as they came unstuck away at Waunarlwydd, going down by 35 points to 23.
Nevertheless, they still remain in third place in the Swalec League Division One West table depite what was an indifferent performance.
Playing into the very strong wind in the first half, Whitland went in at the break 13 points to three down, with number eight and captain Nathan Hart scoring Waun's only try of the half and scrum-half Lee Evans converting it and kicking two penalties.
For Whitland, centre James Stephenson replied with a solitary penalty goal.
The Borderers needed to score early in the second half and this is exactly what they did. After a deep kick, Waun could only clear just inside their 22 and from the lineout and good work by the pack driving on, flanker Dylan Richards scored Whitland's opening try.
With James Stephenson adding the conversion and also kicking a penalty two minutes later, it meant the scores were level at 13 points each.
Whitland seemed to be in control, but after 12 minutes Waun scored their second try through winger Andrew Rees-Spowat. It was not converted, but Lee Evans did add a penalty some six minutes later, before Stephenson cut the lead back to 21 points to 16 with his third penalty.
Again Whitland seemed to fall off the pace and got punished when winger Dan Fox scored Waun's third try, which Evans converted.
Whitland hit back after 32 minutes with a Jack Mason try, with Stephenson adding the two points to reduce the deficit to 28-23.
At this stage, it appeared Whitland were in with a chance of turning things around, but it was not to be and, after some missed tackles, second row Daniel Moyle put the result in no doubt when he scored Waun's bonus point try, which again Evans converted to leave the final scoreline 35 points to 23 in the home side's favour.

Whitland 2nd XV 15 pts. Waunarlwydd 2nd XV 16
Whitland lost at home to Waunarlwydd 2nd XV with the last kick of the game, going down by 16 points to 15 in this Carmarthen Tyre Services League clash
At the break, having played into the very strong wind, Whitland led by seven points to five, with winger Dion Thomas getting the try and outside-half Jonathan Thomas converting it.
For the visitors, flanker Guy Jones replied with an unconverted try.
Again in the second half it was one try each, with Jonathan Thomas getting Whitland's and captain Darrel Moore scoring for Waunarlwydd.
Outside-halves Jonathan Thomas and Keri Jones also added a penalty each to leave the score 15 points to 13 in Whitland's favour.,
However, with seconds to go, the referee awarded another penalty to Waunarlwydd and up stepped Keri Jones to kick it and pinch a dramatic last gasp victory.
Whitland Youth 5 pts. Fishguard Youth nil
Whitland Youth entertained Fishguard Youth and after a very close game won by five points to nil, with fullback David Dunfee getting the only try of the match.
After last week's heavy defeat in the cup, this was a welcome return to winning ways, if only by the smallest of margins.
Blackwood
Ladies 7 pts. Whitland Ladies 41
Whitland Ladies enjoyed their biggest victory of the season away at Blackwood, running out winners by 41 points to seven, scoring seven tries in the process.
Hannah Richards crossed three times, Nat Walsh twice and Emma Summons and Christie Thompson touched down for one each, with Cath Davies converting three of the tries in a cracking win for the ladies.
