Priskilly GC visited Tenby last Saturday for what was the home side's third match in this season's Dyfed League. Priskilly is a pretty nine-hole course between Letterston and Mathry. Their team comprised a blend of experience and youth - all keen golfers. Although the score would suggest that Tenby were comfortable winners, most of the games were tight and the home pairings were either level or down in several of them at the turn. In the two top games, Ben Childs and Darren Thomas plus Nick Thomas and Gary McNeilly both won 3 and 2. Paul Jenkins and Matt Goldwait then claimed victory by 4 and 3. In the fourth game, Steve Sutcliffe and Gareth Phillips battled back to level after the 17th, but lost the last and thus fell one down to their young opponents. Martin Morris and the steady Neil Thomas claimed another 3 and 2 win, before the last two pairs of Rob Wilcox and Ian Thomas plus veterans Viv John and John Stenson both won 2 and 1. Thus, Tenby continued their promising start to the 2014 campaign with a 6-1 victory. Their next league match is at home to Glyn Abbey on Saturday, May 17.
