Tenby Golf Club recently travelled to Newport GC and were trounced eight -nil!

Newport GC is situated on the north Pembrokeshire coastline. The original nine holes are links whilst the additional nine are parkland. The south facing sea and coastal views are fabulous.

In the top game, Dave Morris and John Broomhead were oneup at the turn but lost 2 & 1 to Luke Jenkins and Steve Griffiths.

Similarly, Nick Thomas and Rob Willcox were holdingtheir own against Jarrod Gethin and Barry Truslove but also fell 2 & 1.

Morgan Thomas and Paul Jenkins were hammered by Ifan Phillips and Jim Penfold.

They lost six of the first seven holes and arguably did well to lose 6 & 5.Darren Thomas and Gary McNeilly lost two of the first three holes and never recovered. They went down 4 & 3 to Dai Owen and BenDavies.

Jospeh Nand Lal and Ian Dukewere stuffed 5 & 4 by John Floyd and John Viner.

Adam Thorne, who chipped in on the 17th, and Rob Hall fought hardagainst Dai Rees and Hugh Nash but lost 1 down.

Mike Davies and young Ollie Morris also had a close encounteragainst James Price and Rhys Thomasbut lost 2 & 1.

In the last game, Tenby GC Captain Mick Seal and Gregg Smith also lost 2 & 1 to Jon Davis and young big hitting Ollie Griffiths.Unfortunately, this was Tenby GC’s first whitewash in the Dyfed League for some considerable time.
