IT was a glorious Friday evening when Tenby Golf Club played their annual match against Tenby Bowling Club to compete for the Arthur Ormond Bowl.
Each club had 12 players and thus the match was played in fours over three rinks.
In order to be fair and equitable, the golf club were given a few shots start.
Arthur Ormond MBE enjoyed his golf and his bowls. He passed in very late 2002 and consequently this enjoyable fixture has now been played on 23 occasions.
This year, the Boys from the Burrows performed very well.
The Golf Club won all three rinks and came out on top in the match by 65 shots to 54 shots.
No doubt, prior to next year’s game, there will be much debate about the shot allowance/handicap etc..
Nevertheless, the match will always be played in great spirit and the golf club is very proud of the marvellous exploits of Tenby Bowling Club at both county and national levels
