Saturday saw the ladies go head to head in their annual USA v EUROPE challenge match. The day was glorious, sunshine and no wind.
The captains had previously paired up their team members and they were announced whilst the teams enjoyed pre-match coffee and bacon rolls.
Four ball better ball was the order of the day, a very enjoyable format. 9.36 am saw the first pairs drive off after both teams had had their group photographs taken.
Spirits were high as the rest of the girls drove successfully down the first!
The course was in magnificent condition thanks to our greens staff, although the rough proved a little tricky for a few, but that’s Tenby. It pays to keep on the fairways!
The 12th had our usual refreshments, which were enjoyed by all. Many thanks to birthday boy, Alan Monday, for his willingness to serve the Pimms.
The captains waited in the sunshine on the patio for their team members to emerge over the brow on the 18th. Results were noted, whilst teams relaxed with much-needed drinks. A meal, then for the results… a win for Europe, well deserved.
It was a hard fought battle, but very enjoyable. Congratulations to all who played, including our new players, well done.
Thanks must go to Emma and her catering team and to our sponsor yet again Ian Gravell (Kia Narberth) for his generosity to Paul Sartori Fund which benefits from this fun way to round off the season. See you all again next year!
