THE Steve Derrick Trophy is played each year at Trefloyne.

It’s not only a very popular competition in the golfing calendar, but also an excellent way of raising funds in Steve’s memory, for The Paul Sartori Foundation.

This year again it drew an excellent field of over fifty entrants, who returned some great scores.

Michael Dowler and Lynne Campbell both returned cards with 41 points, but Michael took the trophy with a slightly better back nine.

Close behind were Kayla Arthur’s 40 points, and Meurig Evans and Mike Evans, each coming home with 39.

Off the course, the draw prize donated by Steve’s daughter, Rhian, was won by Jennie O’Dare.

This is more than a golf competition; it’s also a major fund-raising event, with a proportion of the entry fees going to The Paul Sartori Foundation, boosted by donations from family and friends.

And this year was another outstanding success that meant that two of Steve’s family, Wendy Derrick and Jean Haig, were able to present Rosie-Faye Hart from Paul Sartori, with a splendid cheque for £600.
