SOUTH Pembrokeshire Golf Club is starting their 2026 New2Golf scheme on 13 April.

In its eighth year at the Pembroke Dock course, New2Golf is a low-cost way to start in the sport (all equipment and tuition are provided for a small fee) and suitable for all ages and abilities; many new golfers on the scheme have not picked up a golf club before! New2Golf is also a great way for lapsed golfers to return to the game.

Tuition with golf professionals takes place at the golf club practice ground in the early evenings over a 6-week period, there is then an option to continue with further sessions.

Golf is a great way to exercise, to get out in the open air and to meet new people.

It’s a low impact sport which can gradually increase fitness levels through regular playing. It is a whole-body workout, but not strenuous, and can be viewed competitively or just as a good walk around the course with friends. Golf requires skills but these can be learnt at any age - the New2Golf intake for 2025 varied in age from 8 to 70.

South Pembrokeshire Golf course is in Pennar, Pembroke Dock and is located with wonderful views looking over the Haven waterway.

The club is thriving with junior, ladies, men’s and seniors’ sections.

Throughout the year there are golf competitions for all abilities and members are very friendly and supportive, taking new players out on the course to learn about course craft, the rules of the game and giving playing tips.

If you have ever thought: I should give golf a go, or you want to return after a break from the game, now is your chance/
