Last Sunday the weather was fine and the Tenby links were in an excellent overall condition.

19 pairs took part and some wonderful scores were returned.

The Morgan Tucker Trophy is a mixed pairs competition. The format is Greensome Foursomes i.e. both the man and lady drive and then, after picking the best, play alternate shots.

The trophy was presented to Tenby Golf Club several years ago by two of the club’s stalwarts and great friends –Mervyn Tucker and Heather Morgan.

Irene Gilman and Roger Schooling plus Sarah Phillips and Jerry Whitehouse both scored 41 pts.

Isabele and Chris Lawrence plus Angela and Gareth Davies came in with 43 pts each.

Diana Dredge and Grant Watkins matched their winning 44 pts in the Usher Cup but this was only good enough for runners-up spot last weekend.

The winners were Fair Ball and Allan Morton who produced a magnificent 45 pts to claim the Morgan Tucker Trophy.
