Luke Harries, of Tenby Golf Club, has become what is believed to be the youngest ever winner of the Dyfed Men's County Championship title, which was held at the Tenby club recently. With temperatures soaring high, Luke finished with two solid rounds of 76, tying with another Tenby member, Richard Morton. The outright winner was decided in a thrilling sudden death play-off, where both players birdied the first, but finished on the third extra hole after Luke held his nerve to sink a 12-foot birdie putt to claim the title. This was a tremendous achievement for Luke, a four-handicapper, who is also a member of the GUW Academy squad. Not to be outdone on the silverware, Luke's 17-year-old brother, Jack, took the overall nett prize on the day, shooting scores of 75 and 78, reducing his handicap to four.
