St. Florence Girls Under 12s kicked the season off against Clarbeston Road on a wet Sunday morning.

The team consisted of Imogen, Emma, Sienna, Maddy (capt), Meg, Ruby, Marli, Laura and Bella. The girls have been training well, with their hard work paying off as they defeated Clarbeston Road 13-1.

Maddy captained the team with a composed performance, rewarded with two goals. Emma, playing her first competitive game for St. Florence, had a commanding performance.

The game started with St, Florence pinning Clarbeston Road in their own half, with the first attempt coming from Sienna with a ferocious shot just going over the crossbar.

Meg was working tirelessly down the wings, chipping in with two goals.

Ruby led the line, linking up well with the midfield, scoring four goals, while Imogen was always looking to go forward and found herself on the scoresheet with four well-taken goals too.

There was some neat passing between all the girls, with several of the goals a joy to watch.

Marli worked extremely hard and it was nice to see her on the scoresheet.

Laura, playing in defence, produced some excellent passes. Bella battled away in both defence and midfield.

Under 14s

The girls got off to a great start to the season on Sunday away to Clarbeston Road winning 7-0 and the whole team giving a great display.

Emily and Alex both played excellent in goal, while Ella, Florence and Nancy were strong in defence stopping every attack.

Connie, Charlotte and Fiona controlled the midfield and started attack after attack. The strikers played really well causing lots of problems, with Mabli scoring four goals, the last of which was like a rocket. Charlotte sadded two goals and Connie one. Alex was unlucky not to to score during the game when playing out.

St Florence Girls are looking for new players between the ages of 7 -16.
