If Saturday’s game for Carew against West Dragons was the big test to see how much they have developed of late then they acquitted themselves well.

They may not have had an A* as reward for their endeavours but they certainly did for effort as they held the championship hopefuls 2-2.

Prior to the game, the visitors would have been confident of gaining the points on offer despite the Rooks’ impressive unbeaten form but all they could muster was a share of the spoils after Robert Scourfield’s men showed a tenacious spirit that was nothing short of outstanding.

Jordan Richards, who has been a revelation for the home side since joining from Tenby, scored the hosts’ first goal with Shaun Whitfield adding the other.

Angle meanwhile played host to bottom but one club Pennar Robins with the game finishing tied at one apiece.

Lamphey, like Carew are another team that have improved over the past few seasons, and they proved this after suffering a narrow defeat away at Hakin United.

The Stags lost out to the Vikings 5-3 with the visitors’ goals coming from Billy Davis, Josh Dearsely and Michael Davis

Monkton Swifts entertained Goodwick United and only just lost out as the Phoenix Park boys went home with a 3-2 win. Monkton’s goals came from Tom Powell and Luke Probert.

At Narberth, the 11-0 loss against Merlins Bridge meant nothing given the news that former stalwart Chris Richards had passed away. A quality player, administrator and groundsman for both the Bluebirds and the Town’s cricket team, his contributions both on and off the pitch will be greatly missed.

Defeat for Tenby also as they went down 9-4 at Neyland. Josh Grotta scored twice for the Seasiders, with the other goals coming from Sam Christopher and James Richards.

In Division Two, St. Clears did their prospects of survival no harm by gaining a point in their home clash against Hundleton with the game finishing all square 0-0.

Paul Maytum and Ben Hall were the men to score for Manorbier United at Broad Haven, yet their fine goals couldn’t prevent the visitors from going down 4-2.

A good result away for Carew seconds however as they won 3-1 at Camrose.

There was a good result away from home for Kilgetty also as they beat Pendine 4-2, with Ricky Hunt scoring both goals for the Gulls.

Narberth seconds meanwhile were at Pennar Robins’ seconds losing 8-0 as Carl John scored three, Cameron Brunton two and the other goals coming from Jamie Morgan.

Pennar Robins’ thirds went down 2-1 at Fishguard Sports while there was a better result for St. Florence at Herbrandston seconds as they won 6-1 thanks to goals from Ashley Smith, Owen Bateman and four from Lewis Deforges.

Lamphey seconds beat their counterparts from St. Clears 9-3 at home, while two goals from Dalton Boswell and one each from Ryan Bowen and Stuart Ferrier helped Angle seconds beat Solva stiffs 4-0.

Finally, in Division Five, Carew thirds lost 3-2 at home to Milford Athletic seconds despite goals from Luke Hicks and Harry Cook while two goals from Connar Hart and one apiece from Jack Blunsden, Sam Sharpe and Sean Newberry helped Hundleton seconds win 5-3 at home against Llangwm seconds.

Monkton Swifts’ seconds won 7-2 at home against Broad Haven seconds and Pembroke Boro seconds lost 2-0 at home against their counterparts from Letterston.
