Rain played havoc with the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League once again as a host of matches were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
St. Clears managed to take the field, but they went down 4-2 at home to Johnston who moved up to third in the league as a result. Nathan Evans and Sean Seymour-Davies were the men to score for the Saints, who have now won just once in 12 games.
Angle entertained Pennar Robins in the division’s derby game of the day and it proved to be an exciting encounter as the sides drew 2-2. Chris Richards and Gareth Howells scored for the hosts, while Mikey Powell and Phil Thompson cracked in the goals for the visitors.
In division two, Lamphey moved to the top of the table after slamming in the goals against Milford Athletic, winning 7-1. Nico Morrison led the way with a hat-trick, while Adam John struck twice for the Stags. The other goals were scored by Sam Southcott and Mikey Davies.
Lawrenny managed to take the field, but given their lack of football of late it was inevitable they were going to be a little rusty and so it proved after they lost 5-2, their goals coming from Sam Davies and Phil Cole.
Monkton Swifts secured a good win at home as they defeated Goodwick United seconds 3-2 thanks to goals by Blake James, Ryan Griffiths and Ben Nicholas, while a goal by Richard Cope was enough for Saundersfoot Sports to earn a draw at home against Hundleton.
While the Narberth firsts match was postponed due to the weather, their seconds were able to take to the field as they entertained Camrose. The Bluebirds’ second string made light work of the heavy conditions in notching up their ninth win of the season, a win that eased them into the next round of the division three cup. They won 2-1 thanks to goals by Ashley Williams and Callum O’Connell.
Saundersfoot Sports’ seconds lost 3-0 at Clarbeston Road seconds, while Carew seconds drew 3-3 at Johnston seconds as Tom Davies, Dean Morris and Rhys Davies scored.
The goals certainly flew in at Manorbier as the home side beat Hubberston 7-2, with Paul Maytum and Jake Webster both scoring three and Mike Ryder the one.
Kilgetty, meanwhile, were held to a 0-0 draw at Pennar Robins’ seconds.
In division four, a goal by Adam Roberts secured a 1-1 draw for St. Florence at Milford Athletic, while Angle seconds beat Pembroke Boro 4-1 thanks to goals by Dalton Boswell, Jonathon Davies and two by Jake Seaton, while the Boro’s goal came from Jordan Wright.
Finally, St. Clears’ seconds drew 1-1 at Fishguard Sports, Lamphey seconds beat their counterparts from Hundleton 9-2 and a goal by Steve Campbell wasn’t enough for Lawrenny seconds to overcome Llangwm seconds as they lost 2-1.
