Narberth picked up their second draw of the season after securing a share of the points at Johnston who sit two places above the Bluebirds in third.
The Tigers, as they are known, have picked up some form this season after a disastrous campaign last year and Narberth had to push them hard to share the honours in an absorbing clash.
Marc Hughes scored Narberth’s only goal, with an own goal netting for the homesters.
St. Clears have yet to find their form this season and currently sit second from bottom in the division having won four points all season, yet they produced one of their better displays of the year in losing to Merlins Bridge as the Wizards went home with the points after a 4-3 win.
Defeat shouldn’t breed confidence, but the Saints can take a lot from the game in which Josh Jones and Sean Seymour-Davies scored, the latter finding the back of the net twice.
However, if the result wasn’t bad enough, then there was a double blow for the Saints with the news that Nicky Rees is out for the season after tearing his achilles.
A return to the top flight hasn’t been easy for Carew as they prop up the division one table, but they produced a real confidence-boosting result over the weekend after drawing 1-1 with Pennar Robins. Scott Fearne scored for the hosts, while Patrick Mcdonagh netted for the visitors.

The first round of the division two cup got underway on Saturday with Lawrenny finding the going tough at Hundleton after the hosts romped to a 4-0 victory.

Saundersfoot Sports are through, however, following a 3-1 win at Prendergast Villa.
In division three, Kilgetty not only picked up their finest win of the season, but they also picked up one of their best for years after thrashing Hubberston 7-1. Robbie Beynon was on form for the Kingsmoor outfit, netting three times, while Jack Waters struck twice alongside Craig Nielson and an own goal.
Narberth seconds had a good win, too, beating Clarbeston Road seconds 4-1 after Nick Jones and Ben Johns both scored twice.
Cosheston Cougars played host to Herbrandston seconds and won 5-0 after a thrilling display at home. Luke Hendry was a man on fire as he slammed in four goals, with Connor Rees netting the other.
Manorbier United lost 4-1 at home to Camrose and so, too, did Carew seconds as their trip to Merlins Bridge seconds ended in a 4-1 defeat.
Pennar Robins seconds lost 4-0 at home to Milford United seconds, while Saundersfoot Seconds beat Hakin United seconds 3-1 at home after a brace by Rhys Bates and one by Matt Dickinson.
Pendine beat Fishguard Sports’ reserves 7-0 in division four and it was a good day for Angle seconds, too, winning 3-2 at home to Solva reserves in a match sponsored by Kevin Jenkins.
Jason Davies, Luke Wickland and Connor Willis all scored for the hosts as they secured their seventh win of the season to stay in second place.
Carew thirds won 1-0 at Neyland seconds, while the goals certainly flowed at Pembroke Boro as the home team racked up seven against Prendergast Villa seconds in their 7-1 win.
Josh Sture scored twice and Lee Kenford and Adam Williams one each, but star of the show was Phil John as he finished with three to his name.
The game between St. Florence and Pennar Robins thirds finished 1-1.
In division five. Kilgetty seconds lost 5-0 at Hundleton seconds and Pendine seconds won 2-0 at home to Milford United seconds, with Chris Evans finishing with a brace.
Goals by Matthew Cheung and Lee Rigby secured a 2-2 draw for Cosheston Cougars’ seconds at Camrose seconds, while a James Phillips goal helped Lawrenny seconds draw 1-1 with Broad Haven reserves.
Pembroke Boro seconds emulated their firsts by scoring seven at Llangwm seconds in their 7-2 win, while five goals by Paddy McKeown and three from Tom Baker helped Tenby seconds win 8-2 at home to Lamphey seconds.
Meanwhile, the game between West Dragons seconds and their counterparts from Monkton Swifts was abandoned after 35 minutes.
Inter-League
match
In other news an interleague game between the Pembrokeshire League and Swansea League has been arranged for Tuesday, December 8, at the Bridge Meadow stadium. Kick-off is at 7.45 pm. Hakin United’s Gary Dawes will manage the side chosen from Pembrokeshire’s finest players.
