Tenby Arches Ladies v Neyland

Last Wednesday, Tenby Arches Ladies travelled to Neyland for their return game. The weather had mercifully cooled down and there was a pleasant breeze, so the bowling conditions were good.

On rink one, it was a close and quite low scoring game right up to the 19th end. Neyland took the early lead, but the Tenby team consisting of Liz, Meryl, Jan and Gerry managed to draw ahead to lead 12-6 at the 14th end. The game then swung in Neyland’s favour and it was all even at 13-all on the 19th end. Unfortunately, the wheels fell off for Tenby, who dropped a three and a five on the last two ends. The final score was Neyland 21 Tenby 13.

On rink two, it was another hard-fought game. The Tenby ladies of Margaret, Gill, Lynn and Jo just managed to keep ahead, but Neyland were always on their heels and narrowed the gap to 14-12 at the 18th end. Tenby persevered and the final score was 16-13 to Tenby.

Finally, Tenby would like to thank the Tenby House for its continued support.

Tenby Arches Ladies v Whitland

Last Sunday afternoon, Tenby ladies welcomed Whitland to the Sutton Street green.

Rink four consisting of Liz, Meryl, Jan and Gerry had a very difficult game and did not score at all for the first 13 ends, though they did manage to limit Whitland to one shot for most of the ends. Their luck changed a little when they scored on the 14th end and they won five of the last eight ends. This was too late to catch the on form Whitland rink and the final score was Tenby 5 Whitland 19. At least we avoided a whitewash.

It was the opposite on rink five where Margaret, Gill, Lynn and Jo got off to a good start and led by 18 shots to one at the 11th end. They then lost the next seven ends, but managed to hold on and their final score was 23-12 to Tenby.

Tenby would like to thank the Tenby House for its continued support. It is much appreciated.
