A plea has been put out to football fans to head along to show support for a big match taking place in Saundersfoot this afternoon (Friday, August 29).

At 1pm on Saundersfoot Sports Field, the New Hedges and Saundersfoot United over 65s mens football team take on the Welsh over 65s team in what has become an annual event.

“We won the last game 3-1 and Wales will be out for revenge,” Ray Wise of the local over 65s team shared on Facebook.

“We have a few injuries and I am gutted to be missing this one but the team is ready to go. Let’s not forget we have a few Welsh players in our side, with Bomber and Branchy.

“We are allowed one or two underage players and you may recognise the goalkeeper in his Silver gloves!

“Please come and support the team if you can and maybe join with us in Saundersfoot Sports Club to celebrate with the team and have a few songs after the game. Come on the boys!”
