EGA - Elements Gymnastics Academy - was first established in November last year and is based in Pembroke.
The club has been growing rapidly and successfully and has around 100 members from different areas, such as Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Lamphy, Tenby, Narbeth, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest!
They have received a fantastic grant of £3,000 from the Community Chest and would like to say a huge thank you!
They are also currently sponsoring Gethin Rees, who will be running in the Tenby Half Marathon in aid of the club. He is wished the best of luck and club members will be cheering him on!
The club would also like to say a huge thank you to all parents for volunteering to help organise events, transport, funding and also putting all the gymnastics equipment away at the end of sessions!
First Medal for
EGA Gymnasts
The club's first competition was the Welsh Preliminary Championships on April 21 when 12 gymnasts were taken to Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, where they all competed for the first time!
The club was overwhelmed with the end results, as one of their gymnasts, Daisy Howells, came second overall out of 180 gymnasts, while her team just missed out on a third place medal by one point!
All other teams and gymnasts did fantastically well and the club is very pleased and proud of their performances!
Gymnasts were: Daisy Howells, Seren Rees, Molly Rossiter, Freya Brooks, Megan Cole, Talia Shaw, Emily Jones, Lowri Rogers, Bethan Miclgeley, Ioan Hughes, Sadie Shaw.
On April 28, one of the club's more advanced gymnasts, eight-year-old Scarlet Morris, was entered into a tumble and vault competition at the Phoenix Gymnastics Club in Cardiff. She had a hard competition, but amazingly came away with a third place for her tumbles. A fantastic performance!
The club would like to wish good luck to its gymnasts again as they have another two competitions this month, on May 12 at Swansea for 5, 6, 7 years, and on May 19 in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, where the Novice Agility Championships are being held. There will also be many more events later in the year.
