Newcastle
Emlyn 34 pts
Tenby United 10
A depleted Tenby United side came undone away to Newcastle Emlyn on Saturday, giving themselves a mountain to climb at half-time as they fell behind 19-0.
The hosts' fly-half, Rhydian Harries, stole the show, with two tries, a penalty and three conversions.
Emlyn's fullback Sion Leonard got on the scoresheet first with a fine try, with centre Alun Howells and winger Llyr Jones adding to the tally.
The Seasiders, sponsored by GD Harries, FBM Holidays, Andrew Price and Molson Coors, managed a try late on from Jordan Asparassa, which was converted from the touchline by Jonathan Rogers to add to his penalty kick.
"We were depleted again on Saturday, with nine players unavailable due to illness, injury or work, so all that considered, the boys did very well to go up there to a full-strength Newcastle Emlyn and compete," said team manager Peter James.
"We held our own up front, but their backs were a bit too strong for us, with us having so many key positions out.
"We certainly don't fear them and will be looking forward to putting the record straight when they come to Heywood Lane in the new year.
"We are recruiting and strengthening the squad all the time, so I am certain we will be back to full strength again by the time the next league game against Crymych at home comes around and we will be looking to climb back up the table.
"We are extremely happy, though, that after six games in Division One, we are in a healthy mid-table position and even led the division for a few weeks.
"We play away at Aberystwyth in the Swalec Plate tomorrow (Saturday) and will be looking to get back to winning ways," he added.
