TIM Hicks hit an unbeaten 115 as Pembrokeshire League Division One pacesetters Carew saw off Herbrandston.
He was well supported by Shaun Whitfield who blasted 51 not out off 31 balls.
For Herbrandston, Paul Nicholas and Adam Chandler each took two wickets.
In reply, Kristan Bennett impressed with an unbeaten 57 but and the chase was deterred by Sam Harts’ six-wicket haul for 22 runs.
Second placed Cresselly trail by four points after they beat Saundersfoot by two wickets with five balls remaining.
The hosts posted an impressive 209 thanks mainly to Sam Franklin’s 106 not out. For Creselly, Tom Arthur (4 for 45).
Phil Williams (54), Alex Bailey (30 not out) and god knocks by Tom Murphy and Tom Arthur took the Doves past the mark ahead of the big game against leaders Carew on Saturday.
Franklin (4 for 30) also excelled as a bowler for the Seasiders who remain third.
Champions Neyland beat bottom-of-the-table Llangwm by 102 runs, Dai Davies (108 not out) and Sean Hannon (61) helping them to a final score of 280.
For Llangwm, Huw Brook top scored with 52.
Lawrenny posted a solid 173 after being put in to bat by Burton, Alfie Buckle and Rob Williams top scoring with 31. For Burton Luke Hayman (4 for 29).
Burton’s response faltered early on at 24-5 and they were run out 67 runs short of the mark. Rob Williams (3 for 23) and Jamie Lewis (3 for 26).
Put into bat Whitland set a decent score of 204 which Haverfordwest never looked capable of surpassing.
Kevin Pearce opened with a half century for Whitland with good support by Gopal Ramasamy and Gethin Scourfield. Clive Tucker was Haverfordwest’s main bowler with 3 for 37.
The visitors’ chase ended 84 runs short with Iwan Bevan leading the way with 4 for 12.
