Cresselly moved to the top of the tree of division one of the Thomas Carroll Pembroke County Cricket League following a seven-wicket win at St. Ishmaels.

Batting first, the home side were skittled for just 116 after Neil Gregory took 4-19 and Simon Cole 4-17.

In reply, the visitors eased to victory, with Cole unbeaten on 30 and Iwan Izzard scoring 43

Carew are second after an easy win at Pembroke, who are finding life in division one tough after their climb from the second tier last season.

The hosts were all out for 93 after Jonathan Rogers hit 26 following fine bowling from Tom Davies, who took 3-33, and Rhys Davies, who took 3-10.

Tim Hicks ensured the win by hitting a superb 43 not out, with Rhys Davies unbeaten on 35.

While Pembroke may be finding life tough in division one, Kilgetty are finding it a breeze and no player is finding it easier than Kyle Marsh, who struck the team’s first top division ton in well over a decade following his 105 versus Johnston.

His knock, together with 44 from Ross Hardy, 23 from Jack Tucker and 25 from Jonnie Harries, allowed the Kingsmoor outfit to post 263-9 against the Tigers.

They replied with 220-7 after a brilliant innings of 121 not out by Daniel Sutton.

Anthony Lewis took 3-23 for Kilgetty and Tucker 2-10.

Lawrenny would have had high hopes of beating Neyland after they scored 227-8 against them following Brad McDermott Jenkins’s 58 and Simon Cole’s 55, but the home team were in no mood to give the visitors anything as they romped to a nine-wicket win after Patrick Bellerby hit 118 not out.

Another game and another loss for Whitland who were only just beaten by Haverfordwest.

The Borderers were all out for 136 despite Will Spreadbury’s 33 and Paul Davies’ s 25, but they pegged the hosts back when bowling to give them a sniff of a win.

Ben Harvey took 4-42 and Johnny Thomas and Matthew Davies two apiece as Haverfordwest just limped across the line.

In division two, Stackpole went down by 59 runs at home to Haverfordwest seconds after they were skittled for 132 in reply to the visitors’ 191 all out.

Richard Mackay took 5-41 for Stackpole.

In reply, Huw Davies scored 28 and Yori Roberts 28, but wickets fell regularly to stem any hopes of The Lillies passing the total.

Narberth had a fabulous win away at Carew seconds to record their second win of the season.

Batting first, Carew scored 201-8 after Scott Richards’ s 40, while in reply, 66 not out from Richie Adams and 42 from Aaron Keane ensured the win for the away team.

Meanwhile, at Whitland, the Borderers’ seconds lost by seven wickets against Saundersfoot ,who made light work of passing the hosts’ 96 all out.

Paul Oeppen scored 23 for the home team, but four wickets for Toby Pappachan and two each for Tom Mansbridge and Neil Powling ensured they were kept in check.

In reply, Sam Franklin hit 52 not out and Paul Mansbridge 24.

In division three, Lamphey just crept over the line at home to Haverfordwest 3rds, who were all out for 73 after Pete McGilloway took 5-6, with Grant Cole and Scott Brunton snaring two apiece.

The hosts then lost seven wickets in the less than impressive reply..

McGilloway top scored with 18.

Lawrenny seconds were all out for 82 against Hook, who earlier struck 230-5, while Cresselly seconds beat Neyland stiffs by eight wickets after Neyland were all out for 105 following Matthew Lewis’ s five-wicket haul.

Richard Harris then hit an unbeaten 34 in the reply, while Scott Arthur struck a fluent 63.

A superb unbeaten 70 for Peter Kingdom and 55 not out for Nick Daley helped Pembroke Dock overcome Johnston seconds by seven wickets.

Johnston were all out for 134 as Daley took 3-23 and John Camani 2-33, while Geraint Blair took 3-24.

In division four, Saundersfoot seconds were all out for 128 in reply to Crymych’s 275-5, while Burton seconds overcame the challenge posed by Kilgetty seconds after they were all out for 118 to win by three wickets.

Narberth seconds beat Llechryd seconds by nine wickets after Chris Spratt’s 85 not out helped them win by nine wickets, with Hundleton winning their derby against Pembroke by 10 wickets after Pembroke seconds were all out for 47. Yori Humphries took 5-7 for the victors.

Meanwhile, in division five, Carew thirds beat Haverfordwest fourths by seven wickets, Pembroke Dock lost by nine wickets against Llangwm seconds ,despite hitting 150-4 (Andrew Wood 50, Simon Smith-Wrench 40 and Phil Scott 41 not out), while Laugharne again piled on the runs after hitting 309-7 against Stackpole, with Shaun Lynch hitting 104 and James Ingleton 100.

Stackpole were then dismissed for 83.

Finally, Cresselly thirds beat Whitland thirds by three wickets after Whitland scored 168-6 thanks to Gwynne Phillips and Jeremy Woodsford hitting half centuries.

They then took two wickets each in the reply, with Martin Nicholas taking 3-29 as Cresselly scored 169-7 thanks to Chris Izzard’s 35, Mark Meyrick’s 30 and Peter Rice’s 27 not out
