Kilgetty Cricket Club held their Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening at the Begelly Arms recently.

Master of ceremonies, Ian Poole, opened the evening by inviting everyone to stand while the Welsh national anthem was played. Ian went on to tell everyone that the evening would be dedicated to the memory of local cricketing legend, Peter Hall, who had lost his battle with cancer earlier in the week and a minute’s silence was observed.

Richard Fanus then said Grace and around 70 guests sat down to a sumptuous meal. Following the meal, a raffle took place with a host of prizes.

The chairman of the club, Mickey Marsh, then took to the floor to give a resumé of the highlights of the season which included promotion for both 1st and 2nd XIs, the winning of the Youth T20 competition and the winning of the league by the U15 squad.

He went on to acknowledge and thank personally all those who had played an invaluable part both on the field and behind the scenes in achieving success for Kilgetty Cricket Club in 2016.

Ian Poole then gave the captain’s report for the first team, even though he handed over the captaincy to Ross Hardy during the season, with Keith Doleman doing the same for the second team.
