Popular Cardiff to Tenby charity ride the Carten100 returns this weekend.

The 100 mile event isn’t a race, it’s a challenge, and from an initial four riders in 2004, the challenge of riding the 100 miles from the Welsh capital to the Pembrokeshire seaside town has kept growing in popularity with more and more friends, colleagues and acquaintances joining in.

The Carten now has over 2,000 riders take on the challenge.

The event’s main charity this year is the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.

Other charities that will also receive donations from the 2023 event include - Multiple Sclerosis Society Cymru, Kids Cancer Charity and Pembrokeshire Care, Share and Give.

You can see the riders coming in to Tenby from mid-afternoon, where they will be welcomed by the spectators in Tenby Square, before heading to the harbour for refreshments.

A road closure will take place in Tenby for High Street and Tudor Square from 1 to 8 pm.

Tenby and District Lions, the organisation that helps with the finishing party, stated: “Thank you everyone who has worked so hard for weeks organising in the back ground, supporting businesses, those preparing and of course the riders and supporters on the day!

“Tenby will be buzzing again and we hope to see you as its a lovely day having this event in our town!
