Carmarthenshire County Council has welcomed the signing of a PRA25 agreement between Scarlets Rugby and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), which will bring security and stability for professional rugby in west Wales for the next two years.

The agreement is a positive step for the Scarlets, their supporters, staff, players and the communities they serve, providing a stronger platform for the club’s continued sporting, economic and community contribution.

Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Linda Evans, said: “We warmly welcome this agreement, which provides much-needed security and stability for professional rugby in west Wales over the next two years.

The Scarlets are not only a rugby club, but have been proven to be a major contributor to our economy, an important employer, a source of pride for communities across Carmarthenshire and west Wales and an ambassador for Welsh language, culture and values.”
