Tenby 77 Haverfordwest 73: Having beaten Fishguard & Goodwick 89-66 the previous week, Tenby entertained Haverfordwest for the second match in their Carruthers Shield section on Saturday.

And on what was a sun-drenched day, it turned out to be a classic encounter on the Sutton Street green.

Arriving full of confidence after disposing of Whitland in their first match, Haverfordwest were certainly ‘up for it’ and gave the Sharks a scare as the match to’d and fro’d throughout, with very little separating the two teams.

And that’s how it remained at the end, with only four shots the difference as Tenby ran out winners and now move on to Whitland tomorrow, when another victory would again ensure their place in the competition’s knockout stages.

Forthcoming Fixtures

Today (Friday), Tenby have a friendly game against Avondale (six mixed rinks), with a 2 pm start.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Tenby Ladies play Neyland, at home, on the Sutton Street green, 2 pm start. Also, Tenby Carruthers team travel to Whitland for another game in the Carruthers Shield competition, 2 pm start.

Monday, May 28, the Rossiters Tournament will take place on the Sutton Street green, with Saundersfoot, Whitland and Tenby taking part, 9 am start.
